Katie's 30th Birthday Visit

It is hard to believe, but my little sister is 30! As a gift to Katie, we got her a plane ticket to come visit FL. Katie's birthday was actually in May, but she was in Costa Rica over her birthday (hard life, right?), so she came to visit in June. We had a WONDERFUL time! I haven't seen her since October, which is way too long.
Isabel was very excited to see Katie. By chance, they both happened to be wearing Hello Kitty shirts. Isabel was very interested in Katie's funky jewelry.
One of the things Katie wanted to do while in FL was go to Busch Gardens. So, we got Isabel ready for daycare (Jason was still in school) and headed to the park.
In the park! Of course we had to be touristy and take a picture by the giraffes.
Katie filling in for the Head. I think she is doing pretty well.
Enjoying the sky tram. This was a welcome break after sweating all day and walking around the park.
Time for another break! Enjoying the train.
After Busch Gardens, we went to downtown Lakeland for the First Friday event. There was a balloon guy and we just had to get something for Isabel. She seemed to enjoy watching her balloon being made into a butterfly.
The finished product! She popped one of the wings pretty soon after getting the butterfly, but wasn't phased. It stayed around the house for a few weeks.....
On Saturday, we met up with one of Katie's best friends, Mandy, and her 2 kids at Downtown Disney. It was a short visit due to bad weather, but the kids got a little time to enjoy the Lego store area. Fun Aunt Katie showed them what to do.
Lukas and Isabel. As you can tell, she is not dolled up in her usual cute outfit. On the way to Orlando Isabel had some trouble digesting the milk she drank that morning (we will just leave it at that!) and I didn't have an extra outfit. Fortunately Mandy had some extra clothes for us to borrow.....they just happened to be boy clothes!
The whole gange....Katie, Isabel, Mandy, Brooke, and Lukas.
Best Friends!
That evening we went out to dinner and were crazy enough to sit on the patio. It was fun!
On Sunday we headed to Siesta Key. It is such a beautiful beach!
Isabel's attempt to go back to the bathroom....she really didn't like to have sand on her hands and wanted to go wash them off.
Playing in the sand.
Hanging out with Aunt Katie.
Katie's last day. :-(
Before taking Katie to the airport, we stopped by USF. Isabel decided to try on the bull horns in the bookstore.
Katie showing off her Bull pride.
A few more pictures with Aunt Katie.
We had a great time with Katie and can't wait to see her again soon!
